Rafa Müller Quartett

Brazilian drummer Rafa Müller and his international quartet perform a repertoire that reflects the diversity of Hamburg’s jazz scene. Free improvisation shapes the musicians’ interplay just as much as the spiritual and meditative character of the music itself. The sources of inspiration for the group led by Rafa Müller (dr), which includes longtime NDR Big Band member Frank Delle (sax), Pouya Abdi (git), and award-winning American Paul Imm (b), range from John Coltrane to Egberto Gismonti, and from Kenny Wheeler to Olivier Messiaen.
