NDR Bigband & John Beasley

In the more than 50 years since its founding, the 17-piece ensemble has evolved from a radio orchestra into an authority on jazz orchestras. The NDR Big Band not only draws on a comprehensive repertoire spanning a century of jazz history, but also keeps its finger on the pulse of the times. The tremendous versatility and power of this big band is particularly evident in the strong personalities of each of its members – all masters of their craft. It is not without reason that the US jazz magazine “Downbeat” has described the NDR Big Band as one of the most original big bands in the world.

Together with the pianist, the NDR Big Band, conducted by Nikki Iles, presents a special program in honor of Miles Davis' 100th birthday. An event not to be missed.
