The London-based singer-songwriter with her smoky timbre and a penchant for elegant genre-hopping has been turning heads in the British R&B scene since 2018, winning over the BBC, The Guardian, and tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson. She achieved her first international success with “Downers,” and her debut album “Man Made” (2021) was celebrated worldwide, combining reggae, hip-hop, jazz, downtempo, soul, and dub into a mesmerizing mix of sensual soundscapes. She calls it psychedelic soul herself—there’s hardly a more apt description of her sound. On her follow-up album “Tell Dem It’s Sunny,” released in 2025, the globetrotter expertly proves that her soul sounds more authentic, modern, and atmospheric than it had in a long time.
