About
Jazz, blues, swing, soul, and more against the beautiful backdrop of Hamburg – this is what attracts thousands of visitors from near and far to the Port of Hamburg for ELBJAZZ in July. For two summer days, the Hanseatic city is all about jazz music. Several stages on the Blohm+Voss shipyard grounds offer the concentrated diversity of jazz and its various styles.
Today, ELBJAZZ is one of the largest and most popular jazz festivals in the country and even in Europe. It appeals to die-hard jazz connoisseurs as well as open-minded music lovers who have had little exposure to this genre and may otherwise prefer pop, hip-hop, rock, or electronic music. ELBJAZZ features acts that are firmly rooted in jazz as well as those that are more loosely connected to it. This offers plenty of variety and exciting listening experiences!
The maritime atmosphere of the Port of Hamburg exudes an irresistible charm and adds the finishing touch to the two-day festival. The main stage on the Blohm+Voss site is surrounded by shipping containers and cranes. When the seagulls circle overhead, the sun shines, or the harbor lights illuminate the summer evening, and you hold a cool drink in your hand while traditional or innovative jazz sounds emanate from the stage, it is pure magic—Hamburg style.
For passionate jazz lovers and curious music enthusiasts, for Hamburg residents and visitors alike.
