Stages

Hauptbühne
Blohm+Voss, Hermann-Blohm-Str. 3
The industrial charm of Blohm+Voss is an integral part of the ELBJAZZ DNA - just like the main stage on the shipyard grounds. Traditionally surrounded by massive containers, it offers a very special panoramic view of the Port of Hamburg in addition to a varied programme with nationally and internationally renowned artists.

Am Helgen
Blohm+Voss, Hermann-Blohm-Str. 3
Situated between enormous cranes, the Am Helgen stage is within spitting distance of the Hauptbühne and is once again this year providing a pleasant outdoor setting for a variety of ELBJAZZ acts. It is the second open-air venue at the Blohm+Voss shipyard and when it comes to charm and concert programme it's every bit the equal of its "big sister".

Schiffbauhalle
Blohm+Voss, Hermann-Blohm-Str. 3
Once again this year a shipbuilding hall at Blohm+Voss will be used as an indoor stage. With a seated capacity of several hundred, the venue offers plenty of space for intense concert moments in a special setting.

Hauptkirche St. Katharinen
Katharinenkirchhof 1, Hamburg
Situated on Hamburg’s harbour front, Hauptkirche St. Katharinen dates back more than 760 years. Its Baroque steeple is one of the jewels of the skyline above Hamburg’s Altstadt, Speicherstadt, and HafenCity districts. An exceptional place to hear jazz – and an immensely popular ELBJAZZ venue!

Elbphilharmonie (Grand Hall)
Platz der Deutschen Einheit 1 (HafenCity), Hamburg
The Grand Hall is the centrepiece of the Elbphilharmonie. Its special vineyard-style architecture ensures that no audience member is seated more than 30 metres away from the artist. Ten thousand sheets of gypsum fibre panels – aided by a reflector suspended from the middle of the vaulted ceiling – project sound into every corner of the space. The Grand Hall is to host a total of six ELBJAZZ concerts

Elbphilharmonie (Kaistudios)
Platz der Deutschen Einheit 1 (HafenCity), Hamburg
In the past, this was where goods were loaded from ships directly into the warehouse via cargo hatches. These days, the Kaistudios are home to the Elbphilharmonie’s wide-ranging music education programme. During ELBJAZZ, music workshops for adults and children will be held here. These focus on exploring and playing instruments that are central to jazz – from the double bass to the trombone. Advance registration required.

HfMT Young Talents
Platz der Deutschen Einheit (HafenCity), Hamburg
As in previous years, the forecourt of the Elbphilharmonie is home to a large open-air stage. Here, festivalgoers can experience performances by the talented students of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater (HfMT).

Mojo Club
Reeperbahn 1, Hamburg
The Mojo has stood for jazz culture in the Kiez for three decades. Whether in the stylish Jazz Café or one floor below on the dance floor of the Mojo Club: those who let themselves be swallowed up by the gates here at the beginning of the Reeperbahn get to dance into the morning at the ELBJAZZ Aftershow Party.
