Under the patronage of the Hamburg Jazzbüro, the music award, which comes with prize money of €10,000, is awarded every other year to Hamburg musicians who are making a particularly qualified artistic contribution to jazz music and who champion the interests of jazz in the city.

This year the prize is awarded to Lisa Wulff, who delights critics and audiences alike with the modern sound of her contemporary and elegant jazz. The double bass and electric bass graduate teaches the double bass, and works as a studio musician and composer, and she also tours with her own bands and accompanies various productions both in Germany and internationally.

She won the Jazz Baltica Advancement Award in 2016 with her Lisa Wulff Quartet, and she released her second album Wondrous Strangein 2018.

ELBJAZZ is very excited about the award ceremony and concert with Lisa Wulff and the quartet at 16:30 on 1 June in the Schiffbauhalle.

The line-up for the award-winner’s concert is:

Lisa Wulff – Bass

Gabriel Coburger – Saxophone

Benjamin Schäfer – Piano

Christin Neddens – Drums
