ELBJAZZ 2021 ➔ 2022

A year ago, when we made the difficult decision to cancel ELBJAZZ 2020 due to COVID-19, we were well aware that this pandemic would be with us for quite some time. Nevertheless, we were optimistic about the future. At first, we were relieved by the rapidly declining incidences during the first wave, then inspired by the successful concepts for pandemic-compatible live events and were finally hopeful due to the rapid development of promising vaccines. We saw a realistic chance of being able to finally come together again for ELBJAZZ 2021 on 4 + 5 June 2021.

At the same time, we were aware that the course of the pandemic is dynamic and unpredictable, making planning almost impossible. The only option for us was to organise and offer an ELBJAZZ that was both safe and met the expectations of you, our audience with regards to atmosphere and programme. But what now? The spring months we had been longing for with hope, expecting them to ease the situation, are now marked by a third wave of the pandemic. Several virus mutations, a vaccination campaign that is only slowly moving forward and high incidence levels are putting an end to our plans. The ELBJAZZ on 4 + 5 June must again be postponed this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

We know this is bitter news - especially for those of you who have put your trust in us to transfer your 2020 ticket to ELBJAZZ 2021. But: postponed is not cancelled. With the postponement of the festival to 3 + 4 June 2022, all tickets purchased for ELBJAZZ 2020 or 2021 will remain valid. From now on, new tickets for ELBJAZZ 2022 can be purchased here. Further information on the postponement of the festival can be found here. Our ticket service is also available for any questions at tickets@elbjazz.de and Tel. + 49 (0) 40 853 88 853 (Mon, Wed, Fri: 10 am - 2 pm).

There is also one more ray of hope: If you can't come to ELBJAZZ in the Hamburg harbour on 4 + 5 June 2021, ELBJAZZ will come to you! We are currently working with our partners Arte Concert and NDR Kultur on a digital edition of ELBJAZZ - stay tuned!
