ST. PAUL & THE BROKEN BONES

The eight-strong band from Alabama is known for its ecstatic soul packed with blood, sweat and tears. Their first EP Greetings from St. Paul and The Broken Bones impressed critics and soul aficionados alike in 2012 with a retro sound reminiscent of Otis Redding, Al Green and Marvin Gaye. With each album, the eight musicians developed their sound further, from the old-school soul of the early days to the smooth summer funk and hint of disco in Young Sick Camellia (2018), and an exciting sound universe of synths, psychedelia and samples on The Alien Coast (2022). The latest album Angels in Science Fiction (2023) seems destined to ensure, once again, that St. Paul & The Broken Bones will share the stage with rock greats such as The Rolling Stones and genre heroes such as the Black Pumas. The octet’s energetic live performances impress with a thrilling blend of soul and rock’n’roll, psychedelia and funk that will transform even the most reluctant dancer into a maniac on the floor.
