BADBADNOTGOOD
BadBadNotGood began like almost any other band: as jazz nerds who jammed in their university’s cellar. However, the three musicians from Toronto weren’t just John Coltrane fans, they also admired rappers. They recorded an entire album with Ghostface Killah, and their production work for Kendrick Lamar earned them a Grammy. “BadBadNotGood are session musicians, but what they make of that is unbeatable,” says Musikexpress. The band are masters of fusion jazz, post-rock, soul and electronica sounds. And the Canadians sound even wilder live: as if Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters were playing in a rap club. More than six years since their last visit, BadBadNotGood are now returning to Hamburg. Brillant session musicians who will give ELBJAZZ a proper shake.
