ASAF AVIDAN

Those who have not yet been smitten by the highly charismatic Israeli artist have themselves to blame. But it's not too late: Asaf Avidan will finally be performing live again as part of his Ichnology Tour 2023/24! A lot has happened since his uber-hit "The Reckoning Song (One Day)". At times he seems to be following in Leonard Cohen's footsteps with a Hallelujah theme and folky six-eighths and other times he sounds at once so retro-soul and dark with Amy Winehouse grooves that it makes one want to describe it as Motown noir. Always present: his distinctive voice, alternating between lower registers and falsetto, sometimes tugging at your nerves, sometimes at your heartstrings. A voice that is mostly rough, and then unexpectedly tender, but always full of blues so addictive that it is an absolute must-see live.
