When the Bern vocalist Andreas Schaerer and the Cameroon-born, Zurich-based drummer Lucas Niggli first met, a legendary collaboration was sealed. When this voice-percussion duo secured the support of the Italian jazz accordionist Luciano Biondini and of the busy Berlin-based Finnish guitarist Kalle Kalima, poetic italianità, urban electronica and Finnish tango were added to the mix.

However, this unbelievable constellation came about purely by chance. Schaerer and Niggli had originally planned to work with Biondini one morning, while Kalima was booked for the afternoon. A delayed flight meant that all four musicians ended up working in the studio at the same time. They found each other without even looking. The album A Novel of Anomalyserves up kaleidoscopic insights into the successful confluence of four different musical mother tongues.
